National Research University Higher School of Economics, in cooperation with the global online learning platform Coursera, is holding eLearning Stakeholders and Researchers Summit 2017 — the international conference focused on scientific and practical aspects of online education on October 10-11, 2017 in Moscow.

eSTARS 2017 attracts researchers and practitioners from around the world, as well as from universities and business communities, to improve online learning.

October 10, 2017

The first day of eSTARS is devoted to the discussion of educational and state policy in the field of online learning, general trends, clarification of the position of stakeholders. Plenary reports, discussion panels with participation of rectors of Coursera partner universities and other Russian leading universities, policy makers, business, special reports of leaders of online educational platforms, round tables, etc. are planned on this day.


October 11, 2017

The second day of the conference is devoted to academic and applied research of online learning in the broadest sense - as a social, economic, cultural, etc. phenomenon. On top of the research-related reports presented in several parallel Sessions, the Day 2 program includes Plenary panel sessions, Roundtable discussions and Workshops.

Authors who wish to participate in the conference with a report should submit their Abstract electronically, by registering at the Conference website. Abstract dedline is June 30, 2017.

The acceptance of submitted abstracts is based on double-blind peer review. For more information, please see Submission Guidelines. In addition to the main conference topics, the conference committee invites submissions of Workshops and Working groups. To submit a Workshop or a Working group please e-mail eSTARS@hse.ru with your suggestion. We would like to receive one paragraph describing suggested topic by June 30, 2017.

The idea of a Workshop or a Working group is to focus on eLearning topic that you are actively involved in and which you think you can attract a particular group of people/researchers to the conference.

Poster session

eSTARS 2017 will take place at HSE Main Building at 11 Myasnitskaya Ulitsa. Parallel sessions, roundtables, workshops and coffee breaks will all take place at this location. The HSE campus is easily accessible by the Moscow Metro, with the following stations just 5–10 minutes away:
