National Research University Higher School of Economics, in cooperation with the global online learning platform Coursera, is holding eLearning Stakeholders and Researchers Summit 2018 — the international research conference dedicated to academic and applied aspects of online education on December 5-6, 2018 in Moscow. For the second time the conference boosts broader professional discussion in the field of eLearning and gathers leading universities, policy makers, companies, online education platforms and researchers to discuss and share experience.

This year the conference will focus on the universities role in human capital development.

The first day of eSTARSummit 2018 is devoted to discussion of the main trends in online education, state policy in the field of eLearning, challenges of the market and the position of business as a potential employer.


December 6, 2018

The second day of the conference is devoted to researches of eLearning as an economical, psychological, sociological and philosophical phenomenon. We invite researchers with different backgrounds from various academic fields.

eSTARS 2017

On October 10 and 11, 2017, HSE and the global educational platform Coursera organized a unique forum where members from professional communities met to exchange best practices connected to eLearning and to discuss education as a socio-cultural, philosophical, economic, psychological phenomenon.

The two-day conference were attended by more than 400 people from people from 11 countries, including the United States, Britain, Netherlands, Israel, India, South Africa, and Switzerland. The conference was visited by leading Russian and foreign experts, managers and specialists from 56 Russian universities, business community and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science. This is the first large-scale forum dedicated to online education, which Coursera is conducting in partnership with the Russian university.

Main topics of discussion were policy, trends, strategy and prospects of online learning, eLearning in educational process at the universities, technologies, formats and new user experience in education, quality and recognition of MOOCs, cooperation of universities and business to create online courses, data analysis and psychometrics in online courses, teachers proffessional development and others.
