The international conference eSTARS - 2017, that was organized by National Research University Higher School of Economics in cooperation with the global online learning platform Coursera, was held in Moscow, 10-11 October. This was the first comprehensive forum focused on eLearning, organized in partnership with Coursera and Russian university. This event was well attended by the expert community. More than 400 people visited the conference, including representatives from 11 countries: USA, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Israel, India, South Africa, Switzerland. There were 25 sessions with lively discussions focused on a variety of different aspects of elearning. Leading Russian and foreign experts, heads and specialists from 56 Russian universities, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, and businesses community participated in the conference.
Policy, trends, strategies and prospects of eLearning, features of eLearning integration in the educational process of universities, technologies, formats and new user experience in education, quality and recognition of MOOCs, cooperation of universities and business in online courses creation, analytics and psychometrics in online courses, ethical aspects of technology, professional development and support of teachers and many others were the main topics of the conference.
eSTARS Summit - 2017 was a unique platform for interaction, where professional community met to exchange best practices and, above all, to participate in the interdisciplinary discussion of eLearning as a socio-cultural, philosophical, economic, psychological, and communication phenomenon.

The first day of eSTARS is devoted to the discussion of educational and state policy in the field of online learning, general trends, clarification of the position of stakeholders. Plenary reports, discussion panels with participation of rectors of Coursera partner universities and other Russian leading universities, policy makers, business, special reports of leaders of online educational platforms, round tables, etc. are planned on this day.
DAY 2
October 11, 2017
The second day of the conference is devoted to academic and applied research of online learning in the broadest sense - as a social, economic, cultural, etc. phenomenon. On top of the research-related reports presented in several parallel Sessions, the Day 2 program includes Plenary panel sessions, Roundtable discussions and Workshops.
