Vice Rector of National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) Head of the Department of Labour and Population Economics, the Faculty of Economics, HSE, since 2005.

In 1985 he graduated with a degree in Economic Cybernetics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). On 1985-1988 he was a post-graduate student of the Faculty of Economics, MSU. Later, from 1989 until 1991 Sergey Roshchin lectured in the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations, the Faculty of Economics, MSU.

In 1995 he received a degree of a Candidate of Science in Labour Economics. Between 1996 and 2006 he worked as the Associate Professor of the Department of Labour and Staff Economics, the Faculty of Economics, MSU.
