Dr. Kara A. Behnke is the Teaching & Learning Specialist at Coursera. She focuses on the development and implementation of best practices for computer science and engineering pedagogy, based on learner experiences and educational research.  Kara also works with the growing community of researchers at Coursera's partner institutions and manages the platform's content A/B testing.

Kara has an interdisciplinary research background in game-based learning, computer science education, and K-12 STEM outreach. She is also an Engineering Fellow of the National Science Foundation's GK-12 program.

Prior to Coursera, Kara has specialized in teaching interdisciplinary, creative technology higher education courses including mobile-app development, Computer Science Principles, Web development, advanced game design, and introductory engineering.
